Uno de los motivos principales por los que decidí abrir mi estudio hace unos años, era tener la posibilidad de ofrecer experiencias creativas con las que alimentar el alma y el corazón de la comunidad. Es siempre un gran honor para mí recibir en OPENstudio79 a todos aquéllos que quieren compartir su arte, conocimientos y amor, y llenar mi espacio con su creatividad. La ilustradora
es una de esas personas; una artista que vive su profesión con pasión, que siempre busca transmitir el amor en su trabajo con el propósito de "ilustrar un mundo mejor, que también existe". Pero voy a dejar que sea ella la que se presente en este precioso vídeo, que podéis ver también en su web.
One of the main reasons why I decided to open my studio some years ago was to offer to the community creative experiences to feed our soul and hearts. It is always a huge honor when I can invite to OPENstudio79 special human beings who want to share their art, knowledge and love with us and infuse my space with their creativity.

Nívola tiene el don de conseguir que sus personajes parezcan vivos, que se muevan libremente y que parezcan gravitar en asombrosos universos repletos de colores, vegetación, animales y vida. Cosecha ya varios galardones internacionales, pero para ella no hay mejor premio que la oportunidad de "viajar por el mundo con sus pinceles".
Nívola has this special gift that makes her characters seem alive, moving freely and gravitating in an amazing universes full of colors, vegetation, animals and life. She has reaped many international book awards, but for her the true gift is the opportunity "to travel through the world with her brushes".

puedes ver su obra, sus libros y colaboraciones. Podría llenar todo este post con sus preciosas ilustraciones, pero quiero explicaros un poco más acerca del taller que hemos preparado para el próximo 4 de marzo en el estudio.
"Vísteme despacio, que (no) tengo prisa" es el título de nuestro taller a cuatro manos, en el que Nívola se encargará de enseñaros cómo crear un retrato mediante líneas simples y un poco de color y yo os ayudaré a vestir el dibujo con collage textil.

you will be able to see her work and find out about all her books and collaborations. I could fill this whole post with her beautiful images, but now I want to explain you what a special workshop we have prepared for you next Sat. 4th March at the studio.
"Vísteme despacio, que (no) tengo prisa" (Dress me slowly, I am (not) in a hurry) is the title of our collaborative workshop where we will combine Nívola's skills teaching how to create a portrait with simple lines and a bit of colour and where I will help you to dress your drawing with textile collage.
No te preocupes si no eres un dibujante experto, ya que Nívola te irá guiando para que puedas dibujar un retrato usando las formas básicas, diferentes líneas y trazos y te enseñará también a dibujar el pelo y a dotar de carácter y expresión a tu dibujo.
Don't worry if your are not an expert in drawing as Nívola will guide you on how to draw a living image using basic shapes, different lines and stokes or learning to draw locks of hair, endowing your drawing with character and expression.
Una vez tengas listo tu retrato, llegará el momento de vestirlo. Para ello, utilizaremos diferentes tipos de hilos, lana, telas, con los que crearemos texturas o cualquier cosa que se nos ocurra en el momento. De nuevo, si no sabes tejer o hacer ganchillo, no tendrás problema para seguir el taller, ya que te enseñaré a tejer con los dedos o diferentes técnicas para hacer pompones con los que podrás crear los accesorios perfectos para tu personaje.
Once your portrait is finished it will be time to dress it up using diverse thread, yarn, fabric, creating textures or whatever we might come up with. Again do not be afraid if you are not en expert knitter or crocheter. I will teach you easy finger knitting or mini-pompom making techniques that will help you to create the perfect accessorize for your look.
